The Prithviraj Stadium Ajmer

This talk is about one of the largest stadiums in Rajasthan in India. The Prithviraj Stadium aka Khel Gaon in Ajmer has been truly a destination for all the sportsmen of Ajmer and Rajasthan. Be it cricket or football or hockey the ground is big enough to host any games competition for any of these games. The teams from all over the state takes part in the games organized in this stadium and this is the reason why this stadium has become a very important platform for the players of the state.

The stadium was started and founded by the state government in the year 2003. The reason for this was to provide the sports facility to the Ajmer District. The location of the stadium is also very beautiful as this is in the slope of the Aravali hills. The grounds made in the stadium are of world class facilities. Hockey, cricket, Swimming, track, badminton, table tennis and volleyball grounds are main facilities of the stadium.

The first match that was played on this stadium was the state level cricket match and then the state level hockey match in the year 2003. Since then the facilities have improved a lot and various matches are now being organized. The stadium has been recently allocated to the Rajasthan Royals the IPL team for Rajasthan.

The practice matches has started for the selection in the IPL team and the best part if lot of local players are getting involved in the selection competition this time. Various categories of the game are to be filled by the selected players from here. The new pitch which has been developed few weeks ago would be great for the players who want to showcase themselves as fast bowlers, as the bounce and pace is expected from this pitch. There are lots of these talks about the stadium but I guess the most important part is the inclusion of this in the IPL.
